Meet our Founder and Executive Director Mel Snow and Family.

Melissa, her husband Brian, and their eight children.
*Ethiopian flag represents their oldest son they are still fighting to bring home from Ethiopia.

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His lovingkindness is everlasting. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary and gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; they did not find a way to an inhabited city. They were hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. He led them also by a straight way, to go to an inhabited city. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men! For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.
~Psalms 107:1-9

Our Staff

Mel Snow

Founder / Executive Director

Melissa was born and raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has served in ministry for over 22 years. Her back ground includes lay Christian counseling primarily with women, teens, jail ministry, rehabilitation and crisis pregnancy centers. She enjoys sharing her testimony and being a guest speaker at many churches as well as retreats. She has also served on boards for Christian organizations. Melissa has been married to Brian for 22 years and home schools their children. Being a pregnant teenager herself and working in a crisis pregnancy center led her to know she would one day adopt. However, she had no idea that God would bless her to be the mom to 4 children from Ethiopia and 4 biological children. From her many trips to Ethiopia and falling in love with the people there, is what led her to start Be There Ministries. Melissa wanted to make sure that the gospel was the center of everything she did and by starting a non-profit she’d have the freedom to be obedient to what God was calling her to do. She currently attends Grace Bible Church in Northern Virginia where she helps lead music, works with the youth and helps out in women’s ministry. Her favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
