"Wow, where do I even begin to explain my first foreign mission trip to Ethiopia? My first thought is, you must “Be There” in order to truly see, hear and smell the world they live in. Pictures from magazines, news articles and stories people tell, just give you a glimpse of how the people of Ethiopia live. I will forever remember; the people’s faces as we passed by, the joy people felt as we hugged and the friendship we started as we drank coffee together. And most importantly, the times we spent worshiping the same Heavenly Father. I am waiting until the day I return to show the people of Ethiopia my love and friendship. Because of this trip, they have a special place in my heart."

"Ethiopia has held a dear place in my heart for a long time. Visiting on short term mission trips, I saw so much hurt and need, yet how hospitable and loving the people are. The lost and lonely who just need someone to love them, and to know that Jesus loves them. I knew I had to do more, so this led me to being a full-time missionary for 2 years. During that time, I learned so much about the people of Ethiopia and I grew a lot personally, as well. I will never forget the relationships that were built and I can't wait to go back and love on all of my Ethiopian sisters again one day."

"My first mission trip at age 42 was to Ethiopia with Be There Ministries. It was both a privilege and opportunity to encourage those supported through family sponsorship. Little did I know how these trips would change my life, and give me a beautiful picture of God’s steadfast love, and unwavering faithfulness. Yes, extreme poverty and its effects on a community can be devastating, but there’s truly hope and transformation freely available in Jesus Christ. “Timely,” comes to my mind when I think of a BTM support trip. Why? Because we know the end of this blessed journey. Revelation 7:9 “After this I looked and saw a multitude too large to count, from every nation and tribe and people and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.“ Come and be apart of life transformation."
